NTSCORP is located on the lands of the Gadigal people. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Traditional Owners across NSW and the ACT.

Our Teams

Community Facilitation Team

NTSCORP’s Community Facilitation Team is made up of Aboriginal staff who ensure our work is culturally respectful and community-focused. With deep knowledge and strong relationships, the team works closely with native title holders, claimants, and prescribed bodies corporate to coordinate meetings, support negotiations, and communicate native title legislation clearly.

They manage logistics, maintain records, and build connections across the native title sector—including with government, industry, and the broader community—ensuring NTSCORP’s services reflect the values and needs of Aboriginal peoples.

Legal

NTSCORP’s legal team is made up of lawyers and paralegals who manage all legal aspects of preparing, filing and prosecuting native title claims across NSW and the ACT.  The legal team work closely with, and are guided by, NTSCORP’s Community Facilitation team to ensure we provide advice in a way which is clear and culturally appropriate.

We advise clients on a wide range of native title issues and support them in having their rights recognised and making the most of those rights.

We assist Traditional Owners by:

  • Preparing and filing claims that meet the National Native Title Tribunal’s registration test
  • Working with community facilitators and researchers to gather the necessary evidence from Traditional Owners to support successful native title claims
  • Representing Traditional Owners to achieve formal recognition of their native title rights through litigation and negotiation of consent determinations
  • Negotiating Indigenous Land Use Agreements (ILUAs) other native title agreements with the Federal and State Government, private interests, and mining and exploration companies
  • Assisting registered native title body corporates with governance and compliance under the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006 (Cth).

Native Title Research

Our research team is responsible for collecting, organising and presenting anthropological, historical and genealogical evidence relevant to native title claims in NSW and the ACT.

Most of the evidence relevant to native title is related to the social organisation and history of native title claimant groups. This means that the research team is concerned primarily with evidence that shows how a native title claimant group is made up of individuals and families, how these individuals and families are connected to the land they are claiming through traditional law and custom, and the history of their connection to the land they are claiming.

The research team is made up of social anthropologists and historians. Social anthropologists focus on social organisation, law and custom and traditional land tenure associated with each native title claim, while historians focus on the origins of claimant groups, genealogy and their presence and activity in claim areas over time, including the impact of colonisation.
